| This carbon fiber / basalt hybrid sheet is one of a series of prototype 2.5mm sheets we made specifically for R/C use. The sheet is double sided smooth and glossy. The sheet was made using Hexcel IM7GP 5HS and Basalt fabric 12K Unidirectional. The unidirectional is positioned down the length of the sheet, giving the most rigidity in that direction.
Tools Required: This sheet can be cut with a Dremel type rotary tool or electric jig, band or table saw. Mark on sheet with a Sharpie marker, marks can be removed with acetone. You can also apply masking tape over areas and mark on that, remove after cutting. Edges can be easily sanded, we recommend wet sanding with maximum 80 grit. |
